Accessibility Policy

Tunedough® is committed to providing a fully accessible website experience for all users of all abilities, including those who rely on assistive technologies like screen readers, screen enlargement software, and alternative keyboard input devices to navigate the web.

Ongoing Efforts to Ensure Accessibility

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 as our guiding principle for determining accessibility. These are internationally agreed-upon standards that cover a wide range of recommendations and best practices for making content useable. As we add new pages and functionality to our website, all designs, code, and content entry practices are checked against these standards.

Website accessibility is an ongoing process. We continually test content and features for WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance and remediate any issues to ensure we meet or exceed the standards. Testing of our website is performed by our team members using industry-standard tools such as the Accessibility Checker WordPress Plugin, color contrast analyzers, keyboard-only navigation techniques, and Flesch-Kincaid readability tests.

Accessibility Features On Our Website

The following is a list of items we have included in our website to improve its accessibility:

  • Divi Assistant’s Accessibility Helper for multiple items, including adding ARIA Support To Divi Module Elements, setting Icons as ARIA Hidden, adding a Skip Navigation Link Option, enabling Dropdown Menu Keyboard Navigation, adding and improving Screen Reader Classes And Roles, and enabling Browser Pinch And Zoom.
  • Adding a Tota11y Button to access the tota11y accessibility tool. While we understand that overlay tools such as tota11y are not an adequate substitute for hard-coded site accessibility, we hope that this tool will be useful in addition to the manual accessibility work and programmatic accessibility improvements implemented by Accessibility Helper.

Where We’re Improving

In our efforts to bring our website up to standard, we are targeting the following areas:

  • We are aware that not all images on our site have adequate alternative text. We are working on this internally and are incrementally adding alt-text as we are able. If you encounter any images without alt text, we’d be ever so grateful if you’d let us know over on our contact us page.
  • We have chosen to not underline text links on our site at this time, but we are open to changing this.
  • We are aware that the videos published on our site do not yet have captioning. We are working on this internally and are incrementally adding captioning to these videos. If you encounter any videos without captioning, please let us know over on our contact us page. We will move the video in question to the top of our queue for captioning.

This is part of our broader effort to make everyone’s experience at Tunedough® a welcoming and enjoyable one. Please note that while we make every effort to make information accessible for all users, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third party websites to which we may link or embed, including TidyCal.
